How do I get to Bakuriani by car?

Drive to Borjomi, which is 175 km and about 2 h 30 min from Tbilisi Airport, or 143 km and about 2 h 15 min from Kutaisi Airport. From there, take the road up through the forest to Bakuriani.

Do I need a 4x4 for Bakuriani?

Not in summer. In winter we recommend all-wheel or four-wheel drive on winter tyres for the climb from Borjomi.

Is Bakuriani good for beginners?

Yes. It is known for gentle slopes and is a popular choice for families and first-time skiers.

Tbilisi or Kutaisi: which airport is better for Bakuriani?

Both work. Kutaisi Airport is slightly quicker to Borjomi; Tbilisi has more flights and a wider choice of cars.
